Resort La Rosiere
Heli-skiing
Customer:

La Rosiere is the only ski resort in France from which you can Heli-ski, as it is linked to the Italian resort of La Thuile. In
La Rosiere
, you can join an organised Heli-skiing group, led by a professional guide, and take off from the Col du Petit San Bernard before enjoying some magnificent off piste on your descent back to the resort

A great way to travel to the Alps. Departing from London St Pancras and Ashford on Saturday morning you travel through the Tunnel and then direct to the Alps. There are no changes en-route; you arrive that evening and will be met by taxi or minibus at the station to take you to your chalet, in
Val dIsere
. Return travel is the following Saturday.
Seats are in very short supply - so book early.
Resort Meribel
Are you driving to resort? Be prepared...
Customer:

If you're doing a self-drive ski holiday, you need to be prepared. Conditions can be treacherous on the roads to the resorts and snow chains are a legal requirement in the Alps. Chains are cheaper to buy in France than the UK but expensive in resorts, so it's better to head for one of the supermarkets at Chambery and Albertville where they also sell cheap petrol.
Of course you can buy them in the UK before you set off: Snowchains, ski boxes, etc can bought from
www.snowchains.com
on 01892 519 933. For a discount, say that you are staying with Ski Beat.

Pre-holiday skiing practice

It really is worth finding a local dry ski slope or snowdome to get some practice in before your holiday - particularly worthwhile for kids & beginners, so you can make the most of your time when you hit the slopes!

Parapenting In La Plagne
Customer:
Kevin Wade
If you are staying in
La Plagne
for your chalet ski holiday, and are up for it, you must try Parapenting.
There are short flights available which last about 10 minuets, but for a really great trip try the last one of the day. I opted for this as I have done a fair bit of various air sports, and was told this trip would last about ½ and hour and would go all the way down to the valley. Transport was included back to my chalet.
The conditions were excellent, and in the end the trip lasted just over an hour due to some good thermal soaring giving us an extended flight. The instructor was very professional, and I had time to take the controls. The whole trip was videoed and photographed and for a small charge a CD was done.
Great experience, & well worth the cost.
Experience the Bobsleigh in La Plagne
Customer:
G & C
For real thrill-seekers, this is not to be missed!
If you're going to
La Plagne
for your chalet skiing holiday, why not have a go on the bobsleigh: you can choose from the bob-raft, taxi-bob (with a professional driver) or the mono-bob, reaching speeds of 80-100km ph.
Just ask your chalet host or rep, and they can help organise this for you...
