Ski La Tania & The Three Valleys
The Three Valleys needs little introduction as one of the world’s biggest and best ski holiday destinations. It incorporates the resorts of Courchevel (including La Tania), Méribel and Val Thorens and with 200 ski lifts, 600km of pistes and 1500 snow cannons, you can be assured of quality skiing throughout the winter season.
La Tania itself has a large selection of pistes of different levels spread over 150 kilometres, which are well connected with a comprehensive lift network. Beginners have the use of a free drag lift on La Tania’s nursery slopes, allowing them to learn basic techniques before graduating to the long, wide green and blue runs above the resort. For intermediates there are superb red runs from the top of Saulire, as well as the chance to explore further afield; Courchevel valley has some of the best blue and red trails in the world and a huge selection of skiing to suit every level from free slopes for beginners to the most challenging. The easily-accessed additional terrain and almost endless choice offered by The Three Valleys is waiting to be explored by those looking to venture further afield and has plenty to test even the most expert skier with its steep descents, mogul fields and narrow off-piste couloirs.
At the end of the day you can ski back to La Tania by either taking the red run that winds down to the resort, the blue run ‘Les Folyeres’, or the green ‘Plan Fontaine’ which takes you down through the trees and all the way back to some of our La Tania chalets.
The Three Valleys has a vast array of snowboarding opportunities from parks and pipes to almost unlimited off-piste terrain making it suitable for all levels. La Tania has a snow park for freestylers and Courchevel has a larger dedicated railpark whilst there are 2 snowparks in Méribel including the well-reputed Moonpark.
Infact the winter sports offer is complete in La Tania with 60 prepared cross-country trails for various tours. You can also roam The Three Valleys on foot, hiking along the marked trails, or using the pedestrian ski lift passes with many trails created and regularly maintained especially for snowshoeing.

La Tania has an excellent snow record with many of the slopes above the resort being north facing so the powder remains intact for longer. The Three Valleys are renowned for their piste maintenance; there are snow cannons throughout including on the route back to La Tania and more are being installed to enhance the natural snow and keep routes open. Stretching up to 3230m at its highest, the Three Valley’s pistes at altitude can offer skiing and boarding throughout the season.
There are a number of shops, bars and restaurants within the resort and lively après ski can be found at the Ski Lodge Pub with its daily happy hour, party nights and other events. TheTélémark, the Chrome Bar and the Taiga Bar are also popular spots offering regular live music and that essential après-ski vibe. La Tania is a great base for the adventurous with dog-sledding, parapenting and snow-mobiling on offer. If you’re looking for relaxation, you can choose the cinema, massage or shopping. There is also a small ‘relaxation’ pool in the Hotel Montana in La Tania that is open to the public from 5-9pm, and a larger pool in Méribel. La Tania offers a range of cuisine from the Michelin-starred fare of Le Farçon to the comfortable bars and bistros of the village so the choice is yours. It offers a friendly, family atmosphere and has the rare benefit of being away from the main hustle of the bigger resorts whilst still maintaining excellent access to the slopes; its prices tend to reflect this too often being more competitive than the larger resorts. There are plenty of organised events on offer from gigs to children’s treasure hunts and with the good free bus service up to Courchevel 1850 you can make the most of the Olympic ice skating rink or challenge yourself to ice-karting or piste-basher driving!
There are plenty of good childcare agencies available locally. We would be happy to speak to you to help you find a service to suit your requirements.
