Les Arcs and Plan Peisey are great ski holiday destinations; Plan Peisey is probably the best village for ski access in les Arcs. Plan Peisey is the departure point of the Vanoise Express that links the ski areas of Les Arcs and la Plagne. Skiing in Les Arcs is due to open on 12 December 2009, the Vanoise Express a week later.
Four of Ski Beat`s catered les Arcs chalets are in Plan Peisey and are 150m or less from the lifts, five other ski chalets are about 400m – they all provide a great base for a ski chalet holiday exploring the combined les Arcs and la Plagne ski area.
Les Arcs, based on the sunny west facing slopes above Bourg St Maurice, has a huge and varied ski area with something to offer all levels of skier and snowboarder. In addition to the link with la Plagne there have been many new ski lifts installed in the les Arc 2000 ski area. Les Arcs is a high altitude ski resort offering superb skiing from the trees of Plan Peisey and Villaroger to the summit of the Aiguille Rouge with its breath-taking views over the surrounding French, Italian and Swiss Alps.
Les Arcs snow record: Les Arcs has an excellent snow record, there are also plenty of snow making machines to ensure that ski access is maintained to the villages of les Arcs and Plan Peisey.
Les Arcs Skiing: Access to the Les Arcs ski area from Plan Peisey is via a high-speed 6-seater ski lift. At the top of this chairlift there is a blue ski run to les Arc 1800 from where the TransArc cable car provides access to the les Arc 2000 ski area. Skiing home to Plan Peisey from other parts of Les Arcs: there is a choice of easy green, blue or red pistes. Alternatively there is a black run if those ski legs are not too tired at the end of the day. There is a network of snowmaking machines ensuring good ski access to Plan Peisey throughout the season.
For a detailed review of each ski run see our les Arcs piste guide. Snowboarders in les Arcs have the benefit of a large snowpark and half pipes above les Arcs 1800.
Ski Accommodation: Ski Beat offers catered ski chalets in les Arcs, these are in Plan Peisey. Our chalets sleep from 8 to 15 guests, all our chalet bedrooms in Les Arcs are en-suite and the chalets enjoy good ski access to the slopes of les Arcs.
Les Arcs nightlife: Plan Peisey and Peisey Vallandry offer limited nightlife although Plan Peisey does have a number of bars and restaurants to choose from whilst Vallandry, about 10 minutes walk away, offers further choice. After the ski slopes close each evening there is no access to the other villages of les Arcs.
Childcare in les Arcs: We have a dedicated crèche to care for children aged 4 and under on the lower floor of Chalet Marmotton (about 300m from the five chalets grouped together). Children aged 4 - 7 years attending the ESF ski school in the morning may take advantage of our lunch and afternoon care service in one of our chalets. We do not advise ski school for 3 year olds. We also offer a 6 day private nanny service in Plan Peisey (subject to availaiblity and the school holiday dates).
