Plagne Centre

About this Resort

Description

The perfect choice for those who like to be at the very heart of the activity, with Plagne Centre, the clue is in the name. A bustling hub of fun and activity, Plagne Centre is the biggest of the La Plagne villages and is packed full of amenities. With so much to see and do in the area, you would be forgiven for never leaving for the duration of your stay.

However, Plagne Centre has a huge range of runs and lifts to get you to the slopes and testing out the amazing runs on offer. The new and improved Becoin lift on the Montalbert side of the resort offers access to some epic black runs and one of La Plagne's best powder bowls. Bellecote is easily accessible to and from here there are lifts to the glacier, Montchavin and the Vanoise express to Les Arc. Plagne Centre is a fabulous place for beginners to start of their inevitable love of skiing as it is the meeting point for most of the ski schools, it has a beginner area with a drag lift, a snow garden and the longest green run in the resort.

Snow Record

Plagne Centre sits at 1970m making it an incredibly reliable ski destination when it comes to snowfall. On a whole, the entire La Plagne area has an average of 530cm snowfall each season for the past five years and the average biggest dump is 45cm. If that wasn't enough, the Bellecote Glacier ensures that even in the event of late snowfall or an early end to the season, you can simply go higher for great conditions.

Skiing in Resort

Due to its central location, the whole of La Plagne ski resort is easily accessed from Plagne Centre so you have a whole host of ski facilities and a huge range of runs to choose from for all abilities. You can reach Grand Rochette, sitting at 2505m by taking the Funiplagne cable car and from here, the slopes go right into Champagny-en-Vanoise.

The remaining 225km of pistes in La Plagne ski resort can be reached by the stations of Plagne Soleil, Plagne Aime and La Plagne. Or if you want to really push out the boat, why not head out to the ski area of Les Arcs, the other half of the vast resort of Paradiski.

Après Ski

There are a huge amount of places to go for food and drink, between traditional Savoyarde restaurants to quick and convenient lunch spots and everything in between, Plagne Centre has you covered. Terraces and deck chairs populate the area, perfect for enjoying a beer or a vin chaud in the evening time after a strenuous day. If you feel like continuing the party, the area is not short of options for some energetic nightlife. Try Scotty's Bar for the best atmosphere around with live music and a wonderful energy each evening.
