About this Resort

Description

Ski Beat have 6 catered chalets in La Rosière, 'our best kept secret'. The attractive, compact ski resort of La Rosière sits on a southern terrace high above the Tarentaise valley with superb vistas taking in Val d'Isère, Les Arcs and La Plagne and panoramic views of Mont Blanc, the Monterosa and Matterhorn. Known for its sunny aspect, excellent snow conditions and good mix of uncrowded pistes, La Rosière is a wonderful family-orientated resort but one that is suitable for all levels of skiers and snowboarders. It offers the chance to ski into the Italian resort of La Thuile as it straddles the French-Italian border and provides excellent value for money with reasonably priced ski school, hire shops and après ski activities just a couple of hundred metres from our Papillon chalets.

Customer Quote

"A thoroughly enjoyable return to skiing after several years off. As we were rather out of practice, La Rosière proved PERFECT. Good value resort when taking lift pass costs, mountain restaurant bills, etc. into account when compared to some of the famous French names".

Massage Me - helping people make time for themselves in La Rosiere 1850

Whether your aim is to indulge in true relaxation on holiday or to re-energise in preparation for more fun on the slopes, why not treat yourself to a massage?

We’ve partnered with Massage Me, an experienced team of professional massage therapists, to offer you a variety of fantastic treatments. Best of all, you won’t even have to leave the comfort of your room as they come to you and turn your accommodation into your own personal spa - now that’s luxury!

Snow Record

La Rosière has an excellent snow record with its high altitude slopes stretching from 1200m up to 2650m. Almost all the skiing is above 1850m so the slopes hold their snow well and much of it is north facing, helping preserve the good snow conditions even in prolonged warm weather. The ski area's 423 snow cannons add to the natural snow to ensure good coverage.

Skiing in Resort

La Rosière is linked to La Thuile in Italy to form the Espace San Bernardo ski area ranging from 1200m to 2650m and offering almost 160km of piste. It caters for all abilities with over 80 runs covering a good mix of terrain; the wide open slopes near the top giving way to attractive tree runs closer to resort. There's also good off-piste; the Zittieux area just above La Rosière is patrolled but not piste-bashed and there are plenty of other off-piste options further afield for those looking for powder.

La Rosière is incredibly child-friendly with high quality, easily-accessible nursery slopes close to the main village of La Rosière 1850 and Les Eucherts. However its abundance of intermediate blue and red runs, 13 blacks and 7 snowparks mean it caters for everyone.

Snowboarders have the benefit of the jumps, rails, and tables of varying difficulties in the snowparks as well as a boardercross above the main village of La Rosière 1850 and another area to the right of Les Eucherts. There's also a good amount of off-piste options for snowboarders providing natural half-pipes and gullies as well as open fields.

Après Ski

La Rosière has been awarded 'Famille Plus Montagne' status by the French authorities which recognises its efforts to be truly family-friendly. It provides great facilities and activities for kids and they will love the "Narnia walk" to the weekly firework display and torchlit descent, sledging and,of course, petting the beautiful St Bernard dogs in the town centre.

Whilst La Rosière may be a smaller resort than some it still offers some lively night spots open until late. There are a few bars in Les Eucherts, for example the Kitzbuhel bar, with 6 lane bowling alley, pool table and weekly live music, or the Moo Bar lounge and nightclub. For additional après-ski and nightlife there is a free bus service from Les Eucherts to the main part of La Rosiere 1850 until 11pm.
